Dr. Adria Lotus

Biography

Dr. Adria Lotus is an Assistant Professor (Teaching) at the Schulich School of Engineering, University of Calgary. She holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron, Ohio, and an M.S. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Alabama. Dr. Lotus completed her undergraduate studies with a B.Sc. in Chemical Engineering at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology. She has a professional engineering designation (P. Eng.) from APEGA. Her research interests focus on Engineering Education, Learning Assessment, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDIA), the application of Nanomaterials, and Environmental Sustainability. Dr. Lotus is committed to fostering an inclusive and equitable learning environment in engineering disciplines and incorporates innovative assessment strategies in her teachings. She is actively involved in various initiatives that bridge the gap between engineering education and real-world applications, emphasizing the importance of sustainability and diversity in engineering practices.
