Biography

Aileen Mira holds degrees in Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of British Columbia. She completed a hospital residency at Lion's Gate Hospital and has practiced in various fields including community pharmacy, hospital pharmacy, residential care, and government. Aileen has worked extensively with interprofessional health care teams and stakeholders, where she was responsible for developing and implementing educational outreach initiatives directed towards health professionals, patients, and the public. She joined the Faculty in 2014, serving as the course coordinator in the Office of Experiential Education (OEE), where she coordinated the Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experience for the Institutional BSc(Pharm) program and co-developed the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience II for the Entry-to-Practice PharmD program. Aileen currently serves as a lecturer in the Integration Activities Team and is the Co-Lead for the Gastroenterology Module within the Entry-to-Practice PharmD program. Her research interests focus on supporting students through practicum instructional activities to effectively prepare them for their practical experiences.
