Dr. Aimée Dorr

Biography

Aimée Dorr is a Professor Emerita in the School of Education and Information Studies at the University of California, Los Angeles. She has served in various significant roles, including as the UC Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs from 2012 to 2017, and as Dean of the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies from 1999 to 2012. Dorr holds a Ph.D. in Psychology, an M.A. in Psychology, and a B.A. in Mathematics, all from Stanford University. Throughout her career, she has focused on media literacy, children's internet searching, and the educational development of generation education researchers. She has contributed extensively to the academic community through her research and publications, including works on parenting and literacy in the context of changing media landscapes. Dorr's commitment to education and research has shaped the field, particularly in understanding the interaction between media and youth learning.
