Dr. Alan Kohler

Biography

Alan Thomas Kohler is an accomplished educational leader, teacher, instructional designer, and communication specialist with over 22 years of experience in higher education, entrepreneurship, and non-profit management. He holds a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in Applied Linguistics from the University of Massachusetts Boston, and a Ph.D. in Language Acquisition Teaching from the University of Arizona. His past and current work focuses on AI education, instructional curriculum design, and professional technical communication. Currently, his research projects adopt a teaching-as-research approach, examining the integration of AI in writing, learning, and teaching processes. His additional research interests include UX design approaches to classroom learning, higher education program administration, and teacher training and development.
