Biography

Alexander Schüler-Meyer is an Associate Professor at the Eindhoven School of Education, TU/e, with research focusing on pre-service and in-service teacher education, critical inquiry, language-responsive teaching of mathematics, algebra education, and the transition from school to university mathematics. He engages in both national and international projects, such as leading the ML2 project, which examines the impact of multiple languages on mathematics learning, and the Erasmus+ project LESSAM aimed at improving mathematics achievement through lesson study methodologies. He holds a university diploma in mathematics teaching from the University of Oldenburg, Germany, and obtained his PhD in mathematics education, focusing on teachers' professional development. He has also worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Development and Research in Mathematics Education, TU Dortmund University, collaborating on promoting mathematical learning processes in multilingual contexts. Since 2018, he has been an Assistant Professor at the Eindhoven School of Education.
