Dr. Alexandra Bhatti

Biography

Alexandra Bhatti is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Health Sciences at Macquarie University, where she predominantly teaches in the Master of Public Health program. She has over seven years of experience as a clinical physiotherapist across both public and private sectors. Transitioning into public health, Alexandra has worked for over a decade with organizations such as NSW Health, the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, the National eHealth Transition Authority, and the Economist Intelligence Unit in the UK. Her work spans various areas of public health including immunization, policy, tobacco control, eHealth, and health research analysis and dissemination of complex health information to a diverse audience. A passionate educator, Alexandra integrates her broad experience in teaching to ensure authentic reflective practices that align with real-world public health challenges. She holds a Teaching Fellowship from the United Kingdom's Higher Education Academy and has received multiple teaching awards at faculty, university, and national levels, recognizing her significant contributions to student learning. Currently, she is a PhD candidate focusing on public health advocacy pedagogy, using climate health as a case study.
