Dr. Alexandra Webb

Biography

Alexandra Webb is an Associate Director of Education (Medicine) at the Australian National University with over 20 years of experience in teaching anatomy across undergraduate and postgraduate medicine, allied health, and science programs in Australia and the United Kingdom. She is dedicated to enhancing medical education through the creation of effective and dynamic teaching and learning environments by leveraging the affordances of technology. Webb is noted for her competencies in leading the development and implementation of innovative curricula and resources, and she has an extensive background in educational research. She explores novel teaching and learning approaches including the use of virtual reality, virtual dissection, touch screen technology, adaptive learning, virtual patients, and eBooks. Her efforts in educational practice have been recognized with multiple awards, including a Senior Fellowship from the Higher Education Academy and a national Australian Award for University Teaching. Additionally, Webb has been active in professional societies, serving on the executive council of the Australian & New Zealand Association of Clinical Anatomists from 2013 to 2019 and is a current member of the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE) TEL Committee. Her leadership in multidisciplinary clinical anatomy and anatomical education research is complemented by her commitment to teaching excellence and innovation.
