Dr. Alexandru Giboi

Biography

Alexandru Giboi is a Secretary General of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA) and a lecturer in International Strategic Management at Università della Svizzera italiana. He was elected to the General Assembly of EANA in September 2018 and reelected in October 2021, where he has been serving as Secretary General. Prior to this role, Giboi was the General Director and President of the Directors' Council at AGERPRES, the Romanian National News Agency. He has also been a member of the EANA Board from 2015 to 2018 and served as Secretary General of the Association of Balkan News Agencies (ABNA-SE) from 2014 to 2018, acting as President during the year 2013 to 2014. With close to 20 years of professional experience, Giboi is an expert in strategic communications and has delivered speeches at universities across Switzerland, Albania, Azerbaijan, Moldova, and Romania, as well as at numerous international conferences in Europe and the Middle East. He is the co-founder of Evolution Consulting, a Swiss strategic consulting company, and serves as the honorary president of the Evolution Society, a Swiss NGO focused on providing tools for overall societal evolution, particularly in media development.
