Biography

Ali Mozaffari is an Associate Professor and Director of Teaching in the Natural Sciences programme at University College London (UCL), where he has been a faculty member since January 2017. He is trained as a theoretical physicist with a research background in gravitational and cosmological physics. His work focuses on understanding the relationship between analogue physics and the fundamental nature of the universe across multi-modal approaches. Additionally, he has a strong interest in educational pedagogy, science communication, and outreach, striving to develop interdisciplinary networks that bring together staff and students. Outside of his academic pursuits, Ali enjoys engaging with the vibrant cultural scene of London, including visiting galleries and museums, attending concerts, and watching theatre productions. His teaching spans various courses, including Modern Physics, Astronomy and Cosmology, Linear Algebra and Vector Calculus, and Classical Mechanics, where he leads and collaborates on several modules.
