Biography

Alison M. Rangel is a Clinical Assistant Professor and Academic Fieldwork Coordinator at the Department of Occupational Therapy at New York University Steinhardt. She holds a post-professional clinical doctorate in Occupational Therapy from New York University Steinhardt, a Master's degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of Scranton, and a Bachelor's degree in Health Sciences with a minor in Counseling and Human Services from the University of Scranton. Prior to her role at NYU, she had a significant clinical career, serving at NYU Langone School of Medicine at Bellevue Hospital Center and as a senior occupational therapy clinician for the Department of Psychiatry at Mt. Additionally, she has held adjunct faculty appointments at Long Island University and has been involved in managing the fieldwork program at NYU's Department of Occupational Therapy. Prof. Rangel is a proud national member of several organizations including the Coalition of Occupational Therapy Advocates for Diversity and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists. She has received multiple awards for her contributions to the academic community.
