Biography

Alissa Mrazek is a Research Assistant Professor at the University of Texas at Austin. She joined the faculty in September 2020 after completing her post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Dr. Mrazek graduated summa cum laude from Cornell University in 2010 and earned her Ph.D. in Psychology from Northwestern University in 2016. Her research primarily focuses on self-regulation, motivation, attention, and psychological interventions, particularly for adolescents. Mrazek's work aims to develop effective interventions to enhance self-regulation among high school students, addressing challenges such as distraction and mental health issues. She is currently evaluating the efficacy of digital interventions designed to support self-regulation at scale. In addition to her academic pursuits, she enjoys outdoor activities like hiking and paddle boarding, as well as plant-based cooking.
