Biography

Amanda Musgrove holds a PhD in Chemistry from the University of British Columbia, awarded in 2013, along with an MS in Chemistry from the same institution in 2006. She also possesses a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from the University of Alberta, completed in 2003, and a Provincial Instructor's Diploma in Adult Education from Vancouver Community College, obtained in 2012. Musgrove serves as a Teaching Professor and is the Associate Head (Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Accessibility) in the Department of Earth, Energy, and Environment at the University of Calgary. She is co-director of the Energy Science Program and actively contributes to various committees and initiatives related to teaching and learning, including memberships in the Canadian Society for Chemistry and leadership roles within the Chemical Education Division of the Chemical Institute of Canada. Her research interests focus on science education, particularly around attitudes of chemistry learners, Open Educational Resources (OER), and training programs for graduate students and teaching assistants. She is involved in various curriculum adaptation projects to align educational materials with course needs, enhancing laboratory safety training, and promoting inclusive teaching practices.
