Dr. Amber Pincavage

Biography

Amber Pincavage, MD, is a Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She serves as the Clerkship Director and Phase 2 Director, and is a Core Faculty Member of the Internal Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Pincavage is a primary care physician dedicated to supervising residents and teaching general medicine in a hospital setting. Her research interests focus on health disparities, particularly in underserved populations, and include education strategies for both undergraduate and graduate medical education. She has formerly held the role of President of the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine (CDIM) and has published extensively on various aspects of medical education, including clinical reasoning, assessment, and the transition between medical education stages. Dr. Pincavage has contributed to research around medical student advising and residency recruitment, and has been actively involved in initiatives that address equity in clinical assessment and curricula development.
