Dr. Amber Pincavage

Biography

Amber Pincavage is a Professor in the Section of General Internal Medicine and serves as the Clerkship Director and Phase 2 Director at the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine. She is also a core faculty member in the Internal Medicine Residency Program. As a primary care physician, she supervises residents while teaching the general medicine hospital service. Her research interests are focused on various aspects of medical education including handoffs in undergraduate and graduate medical education transitions, ambulatory medical education, clinical reasoning, assessment, and equity in medical education. Previously, Dr. Pincavage was the Clerkship Directors Internal Medicine (CDIM) President and a board member of the Alliance for Academic Internal Medicine (AAIM). Her work emphasizes not only teaching and assessment methodologies but also equity in the educational practices of medical training, contributing significantly to the development of future medical professionals.
