Dr. Ambrose Wong

Biography

Ambrose Wong, MD, MSEd, MHS, is an Associate Professor Adjunct in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the Yale School of Medicine. His focus is on teamwork, patient safety, technology-based interventions, and behavioral health. Dr. Wong has a strong background in qualitative and mixed-methods techniques in health services research, applying healthcare simulation technology to address workplace violence and to improve behavioral care in emergency settings. He has authored twenty-five peer-reviewed publications centered around behavioral emergency care and patient safety, securing funding from multiple federal agencies and foundations, including NIH, YCCI, AHRQ, and PCORI. He is currently involved in various research projects, including the implementation of a peer support enhanced behavioral crisis response team in emergency departments and investigating the use of health systems to prevent agitation episodes in behavioral patients. His academic contributions reflect a commitment to advancing the safety and effectiveness of emergency medical care.
