Biography

Andrea Cuesta Claros is an Assistant Lecturer at the Monash Sustainable Development Institute, where she teaches in the Master of Environment and Sustainability program. Her research focuses on the potential of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to transform universities and society through co-designing sustainability curricula with students. Andrea obtained her PhD in Sustainable Development from Monash University, where her thesis examined how universities can adopt SDGs and the diverse perspectives of university actors in shaping the role of higher education in societal transformation. She has previously worked on sustainability assessments in partnership with UNEP-DTU in Denmark and served as a junior consultant at Demos Helsinki in Finland. Additionally, Andrea has experience in social innovation projects in Latin America and engineering roles in Mexico's technology sector. Her research interests include sustainability futures, co-creative knowledge generation, and the integration of sustainability into university curricula.
