Biography

Andrew Peters is a Sir Henry Dale Fellow at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics at the University of Oxford. He earned his undergraduate degree in Neuroscience from Emory University in Atlanta and worked as a research assistant at the National Institutes of Health, where he joined the Neurosciences Graduate Program at the University of California, San Diego. His PhD research in Takaki Komiyama's lab focused on the changes in motor cortex activity associated with learning. Following his doctoral studies, he joined the labs of Matteo Carandini and Kenneth Harris at University College London as a postdoctoral fellow, where his research emphasized the interactions between the cortex and the striatum. In 2022, Andy began his lab at the Department of Physiology, Anatomy and Genetics, continuing to explore questions in neuroscience.
