Angela joined the University of Glasgow in September 2023 as a member of the Pedagogy, Praxis and Faith Teaching Group within the School of Education. She graduated from the University of Glasgow in 1996 with an MA in Social Science and subsequently completed a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) in Modern Studies at St. Andrew's College of Education. In 2000, Angela achieved an Additional Teaching Qualification in Geography from the Jordanhill campus of the University of Strathclyde. She also obtained a Postgraduate Diploma in Pastoral Care from the University of Aberdeen and a Master of Education (MEd) in Enhanced Educational Practice from the University of the West of Scotland, focusing on supporting young people in mentoring and educational settings. Her research interests include supporting middle learners in secondary educational settings, tracking Broad General Education experiences and outcomes in a social studies context, and the integration of Developing Young Workforce initiatives in Initial Teacher Education (ITE). Angela supervises students in the Year 5 MEduc programme and teaches courses including PGDE: Curriculum & Pedagogies in Geography and Modern Studies, as well as other curriculum enquiry courses. She is a member of several professional societies, including the General Teaching Council for Scotland and is an Associate Member of COSCA.
