Dr. Angela Montgomery

Biography

Angela Montgomery is an Associate Professor of Pediatrics at Yale School of Medicine, specializing in Neonatal-Perinatal Medicine. She is the director of the Yale NICU GRAD Program, which follows up on infants discharged from the Newborn Intensive Care Unit (NICU). Her clinical research primarily focuses on the long-term neurodevelopmental and neurobehavioral outcomes of at-risk infant populations. Dr. Montgomery's work includes the impact of the NICU environment and neonatal practices on outcomes for high-risk infants, early identification of autism, and management of low birth weight infants. She completed her medical degree at New York Medical College in 2009 and a Master's degree in Special Education from Hunter College, CUNY, in 2000. Dr. Montgomery underwent her Pediatric Residency and Neonatology Fellowship at Yale University. She is dedicated to improving developmental outcomes for infants and enjoys observing her patients' progress as they transition from NICU to home care within the GRAD program. Dr. Montgomery has received the Clinical Excellence Award from the Yale Department of Pediatrics in 2022, reflecting her commitment to excellent clinical care.
