Biography

Angela is a Professor at the University of Edinburgh Business School and has been with the Business School since 2005. She was promoted to Reader in 2013 and became a Personal Chair in Marketing in 2018. Angela holds a BA (Hons) in Marketing & French from the University of Strathclyde (1991), an MPhil from the University of Edinburgh (1993), and a PhD from the University of Newcastle (2001). Before joining the Business School, she served as a Lecturer and later a Senior Lecturer in Marketing at the University of Newcastle, and also worked as a research assistant at the University of Aberystwyth. As an applied social scientist, Angela's work examines the behaviors and processes that shape agrifood markets and supply chains and their consequences for the environment and society. In recent years, she has researched public sector catering services, agricultural producer cooperatives, and origin branding policies for food products, as well as the impacts of tourism overcrowding in rural areas. Throughout her career, Angela has designed and taught a variety of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, focusing on developing critical thinking skills related to marketing and consumption activities.
