Ann Frost is an Associate Professor in Organizational Behavior at Ivey Business School, University of Western Ontario. She joined the faculty in 1995 after completing her doctoral studies in industrial relations at Sloan School of Management, MIT. Ann holds undergraduate and Master's degrees from the Faculty of Commerce at the University of British Columbia. Her recent research focuses on organizational routines, particularly within Canadian policing, aimed at enabling organizations to pursue efficiency and socially desirable outcomes. Her research has been supported by Russell Sage and Rockefeller Foundations, as well as SSHRC for investigations into job quality in Canadian call centers and care team interactions in Ontario ICUs. Ann is involved in a multi-year SSHRC-funded Major Collaborative Research Initiative project, Rethinking Institutions, Work, and Employment in the Global Era. She has published outputs in leading academic and practitioner journals such as ILR Review and California Management Review. Within Ivey, Ann teaches MBA, EMBA, and undergraduate courses, including a popular elective on Interpersonal Negotiations. Her work in Executive Education specializes in organizational issues such as engagement, change, and leadership effectiveness for clients in various sectors, especially government and not-for-profit organizations. Previously, she served as Faculty Director for Ivey’s programs in London and Calgary. She is currently the Faculty Co-Director of CommunityShiftTM, a leadership development program for C-level leaders in Canadian charities and non-profit organizations, which was founded in collaboration with KPMG Enterprise.
