Biography

Ann C. Zumwalt, PhD, is an Associate Professor at Boston University Chobanian & Avedisian School of Medicine in the Department of Anatomy and Neurobiology. Dr. Zumwalt's contributions to medical education have been recognized with notable awards, including the Stanley Robbins Educator of the Year in 2018 and Preclinical Educator of the Year in 2010 at the School of Medicine. She is involved in national service through the American Association of Anatomy and has held various roles on committees related to medical education and diversity. Her research has explored the impact of endurance exercise on skeletal muscle and different locomotor patterns in rodents. Dr. Zumwalt is dedicated to enhancing educational practices and mentoring graduate students, addressing issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion within the medical curriculum.
