Dr. Annalisa Raymer

Biography

Annalisa Raymer is a Senior Lecturer within the Department of Global Development at Cornell University and the Section Director for the Community Learning Service Partnership (CLASP). Her professional practice focuses on facilitating adult learning and community engagement through participatory action research and inclusive curricular development. Prior to her role at Cornell, she was involved in rural research and leadership development initiatives in the Central Appalachian region, where she contributed to policy-making efforts that enhance community capacities through various funding agencies. In her teaching, Dr. Raymer emphasizes the importance of creating empowering learner-centered environments that support self-directed learning. Her research interests include the dynamics of ecosystem learning, the application of UNESCO’s Learning Cities framework, and the development of collaborative intelligence amidst climate change challenges. She actively participates in professional service, including leadership roles within international adult education organizations. Raymer’s educational background includes a Doctorate from Cornell University, along with several other advanced degrees, which enrich her contributions to the field of adult and community education.
