Biography

Annemarie Braakman-Jansen works as an assistant professor at the Centre eHealth & Wellbeing Research at the University of Twente. Her research focuses on the design, implementation, and process (cost) effectiveness evaluation of persuasive technology interventions aimed at changing health behavior and improving the quality of life for individuals and communities. She completed her studies in Health Sciences (Human Movement Sciences and Health Education & Promotion) at the University of Maastricht. Prior to her current role, she worked in Amsterdam at an outpatient clinic for rheumatic diseases and earned her PhD with an epidemiological project titled 'Prognosis Early Arthritis' in 2003. Additionally, she served as a policy advisor to the National Health Care Institute, gaining valuable experience in the field of health economics. Since 2006, she has been affiliated with the University of Twente, collaborating with Professor Lisette van Gemert-Pijnen. Her expertise spans various areas, including Nursing, Health Professions, Patient Care, Rheumatoid Arthritis, Psychology, Caregiver Behavioral Interventions, Health Research, Medicine, Dentistry, and Antibiotic Resistance, including its relevance to COVID-19.
