Biography

Aviroop Biswas is an Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health at the University of Toronto. His research focuses on workplace policies, programs, and practices that promote worker health and wellbeing, including the examination of sex/gender and socioeconomic differences in health outcomes. Aviroop employs a range of methodologies including analyses of population surveys, administrative data, and data from wearable devices, as well as systematic reviews and meta-analyses. He is an affiliated scientist at the Institute for Work & Health and has led several projects aimed at understanding the implications of work-related and non-work-related factors on worker health and movement patterns among Canadian workers. Aviroop holds a Doctorate in Health Services Research from the University of Toronto, and his educational background includes postdoctoral training in Work and Health, and bachelor's degrees in Biology and Cell Biology from Western University and McGill University, respectively.
