Dr. Beth Helgason

Biography

Beth Anne Helgason is an Assistant Professor of Organizational Behavior at the Yale School of Management. She explores how people make judgments and decisions related to ethics and morality, focusing on how lay theories of honesty influence perceptions of communication. Her research investigates moral norms and how individuals calibrate what is considered 'good' through experiments with diverse, real-world samples. Professor Helgason's work has been published in notable journals including the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology and Organization Science, and she has contributed to practitioner outlets such as the Harvard Business Review. She holds a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior from London Business School and has degrees in Psychology and Management from Queen's University, Canada. In addition to her research, she teaches courses on Business Ethics in the MBA and Master’s Asset Management programs at Yale.
