Dr. Björn Wikhamn

Biography

Björn Remneland Wikhamn is a Professor at the University of Gothenburg, Department of Business Administration. He has a Ph.D. from the same university, completed in 2007, and became an associate professor in 2013. His research interests mainly revolve around management, organizing innovation processes, and open innovation across various industries, including pharmaceuticals and video games. He has recently focused on how large firms collaborate with small firms to establish innovation hubs. His scholarly work encompasses strategy, human resources, and small business growth, taking an explorative and practice-oriented approach. Björn is the academic responsible for the Matix program, which emphasizes innovation, strategy, and business development, integrating theoretical learning with practical application through partnerships with companies. He teaches subjects such as innovation management and business models, with an emphasis on sustainable growth and interactive learning. His work includes numerous publications in esteemed journals addressing themes such as gender diversity, employee participation, and strategic exploitation in SMEs.
