Dr. Carol Parker

Biography

Carol Parker is an Assistant Professor in the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University, where she has been involved since 2005. Her expertise encompasses public health education and administration, with significant roles such as the Director of Graduate Medical Education Consortium and Executive Director of the Statewide Health Information Exchange. Dr. Parker’s interests focus on program evaluation, health workforce policy, and improving health outcomes for underserved communities. She has contributed to curricula development and assessment methodologies aimed at addressing unconscious bias in healthcare access. Her professional experience includes serving as a community assistant dean and extensive involvement in reviewing for various academic journals. Parker has been a committed member of numerous health policy committees and boards, working towards advancing public health initiatives and education. Throughout her career, she has published several peer-reviewed articles addressing health information exchanges and stroke quality metrics, while also presenting her work at national conferences. Additionally, she teaches courses in Epidemiology and Health Policy, applying problem-based learning methodologies to foster critical thinking among medical students.
