Biography

Caroline Lebrec is an Assistant Professor in the Department of French, Hispanic and Italian Studies. She obtained her Ph.D. in French Studies from the University of Toronto in 2012 and has a Master's degree in Comparative Literature from Université Paris III Sorbonne-Nouvelle. Her research focuses on educational leadership, inclusive pedagogy, and literature. Caroline is dedicated to enhancing teaching and learning experiences for undergraduate students, employing inclusive and experiential teaching practices. She teaches multiple French language courses and has contributed significantly to the development of the French Language Program at her university. Her current projects include developing a textbook series that incorporates the diversity of francophone communities in Canada and Indigenous francophone communities. Caroline has also engaged in various media interviews and authored several academic publications that explore themes of literature, pedagogy, and inclusivity. She is an equity, diversity, and inclusion representative for the Association des Professeur·e·s de Français des Universités et Collèges Canadien·ne·s (APFUCC) and a member of the Green College Leading Scholars program.
