Biography

Caroline Machado is an experienced language educator with a strong background in teaching and curriculum development. Originally from Brazil, she taught English as a Foreign Language for several years before moving to the United States. She holds Master of Arts degrees in Applied Linguistics and Spanish from Georgia State University and began teaching both Portuguese, her native language, and Spanish. With more than a decade of teaching experience at American universities, she has been a faculty member at Georgia Tech since 2020. Her teaching is deeply informed by her passion for languages, intercultural communication, and global citizenship. She enjoys introducing students to the richness of Spanish and Brazilian cultures while guiding them on their linguistic journey in learning Spanish and Portuguese. Caroline firmly believes that language learning is a powerful gateway to understanding new cultures and engaging meaningfully with the world.
