Biography

Cecelia Burokas is an independent consultant specializing in strategic planning, change management, coaching, and nonprofit board development. She has previously worked as the Consulting Practice Leader for the Council on Adult Experiential Learning and has been a consultant for Hewitt Associates' Organizational Effectiveness global practice. Additionally, she served as Vice President of Learning and Development at Talman Home Federal Savings. Burokas is currently a certified career coach with Five O’Clock Club, a national outplacement coaching firm. In her teaching role in the MS Learning Organizational Change Program, she leads undergraduate classes on Organizational Change. Burokas holds an AB degree from Vassar College and a MAT from Reed College. She has completed a one-year practicum program in Client-Centered Counseling at the Chicago Counseling Psychotherapy Center, and furthered her studies at the University of Minnesota's Split Rock Arts Program and Lill Street Art Center in Chicago. She has served on several nonprofit boards, notably the Community TV Network, where she worked with Chicago’s at-risk youth, teaching them video production and workplace skills through hands-on experiences. In addition to her professional pursuits, she is also an avid jewelry designer and has a passion for group dynamics and conflict resolution.
