Biography

Celeste Kinginger’s scholarship focuses on developing meaningful world language abilities for Anglophone learners. She has played a pioneering role in establishing the viability of Internet-mediated and telecollaborative approaches to classroom language instruction and has published various works on language pragmatics and multilingual life writing. In recent years, her work has concentrated on understanding the processes and outcomes of language learning in study abroad contexts. She has published and lectured nationally and internationally on these topics and is the author and editor of five book-length works about language learning in study abroad contexts. Her recent publications include 'Professional Lives of Language Study Abroad Alumni' (Multilingual Matters, 2023, co-authored with Jingyuan Zhuang) and various articles in leading journals. She regularly teaches basic courses in applied linguistics, language acquisition, and advanced doctoral seminars on Pragmatics, Language Learning, and Teaching and Qualitative Research in Applied Linguistics.
