Dr. Cesi Cruz

Biography

Cesi Cruz is an Associate Professor at the University of Michigan's Department of Political Science and the Department of Economics (by courtesy). Her research focuses on the intersection of political science and economics, with a particular emphasis on elections, misinformation, and gender-inclusive development. Cruz employs fieldwork methodologies in countries such as Cambodia and the Philippines, utilizing social network analysis, surveys, and field experiments to gather data. Her work has been published in prestigious academic journals including the American Political Science Review, American Economic Review, and Comparative Political Studies. In addition to her research contributions, Cruz is a board member of the Experiments in Governance and Politics (EGAP) and serves on the editorial board of the American Political Science Review. She is actively involved in initiatives that promote women's scholarship in political science.
