Charlie Pettit joined the Faculty of Education at the University of Cambridge in 2020. He currently co-leads the secondary Biology PGCE program and supervises the MEd Transforming Practice course. Additionally, Charlie plays a significant role in the leadership team of a multi-academy trust, supporting numerous primary and secondary schools across Cambridgeshire. He completed his PGCE in 2009 and earned his MEd in 2012 from the University of Cambridge. Charlie's research interests focus on teaching and learning, and the disparity in plant awareness among students aged 11-18 and pre-service teachers. He is also a reviewer for the Journal of Biological Education and School Science Review, and he provides workshops on teaching and learning through STEM learning and the Association for Science Education. Furthermore, he acts as a consultant for the Cambridge Partnership Education, the Cambridge University Press Assessment, and the Kazakhstan Center of Excellence. Charlie engages in the development of teaching and learning resources in collaboration with the Faculty of Education, the Gurdon Institute Public Engagement team, and the Science Plants Schools initiative.
