Professor Dr. Chris Higgins

Biography

Chris Higgins is a Professor Emeritus at Ivey Business School, having previously taught at the University of Waterloo and McMaster University. He holds a Bachelor of Mathematics in Statistics, a Master of Mathematics in Statistics, and a Ph.D. in Management Sciences from the University of Waterloo. Higgins' research focuses on the impact of technology on individuals, champions of technological innovation, alternative work arrangements, and the interplay between work and family issues, affecting both individuals and organizations. In collaboration with Linda Duxbury from Carleton University, he has conducted extensive national studies on work, family, and eldercare issues in Canada across multiple decades (1990, 2000, 2011). His research includes in-house surveys conducted for over 40 companies, leading to the collection of extensive data from 150,000 Canadians, contributing to the understanding of how work-life dynamics impact organizational and personal outcomes.
