Chrisanthi Avgerou is a Professor of Information Systems at the London School of Economics (LSE). Her main research interests lie at the intersection of information and communication technology (ICT) and organizational change, as well as the role of ICT in socio-economic development. She chaired the IFIP Technical Committee 9 on social implications of information technology from 2004 to 2010 and was active in the IFIP WG 9.4 group focusing on ICT in developing countries from 1996 to 2003. In addition to her extensive research portfolio, she has served as an Associate Editor for prominent journals including Information Systems Research and MIS Quarterly. She is also a Fellow of the British Computer Society and the Association for Information Systems.
