Biography

Christine Min Wotipka is an Associate Professor (Teaching) at Stanford University's Graduate School of Education, where she also holds a courtesy appointment in the Department of Sociology. With extensive experience in gender, diversity, and education research, Dr. Wotipka's work focuses on comparative scholarship regarding gender education, supported by organizations such as the National Science Foundation and the Spencer Foundation. She has served as the director of Stanford's Master’s Programs in Global Comparative Education and International Education Policy Analysis and is a co-founder of the EAST House learning community. Additionally, Dr. Wotipka has consulted on girls' education policies for the Ministry of Education in Afghanistan and has been involved with numerous academic and professional organizations. She has published in notable journals, including Social Forces and Gender & Society. Dr. Wotipka earned her Ph.D. in International Comparative Education from Stanford University and has previously held academic positions at UCLA and the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
