Biography

Chris Gregg received his Ph.D. in Computer Engineering from the University of Virginia in 2012, after earning his Master's in Education from Harvard University in 2002 and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 1994. Before joining Stanford as a lecturer, he taught at the computer science department at Tufts University and spent seven years teaching high school physics in Massachusetts and California. In addition to his teaching career, Chris served seven years active duty in the Navy and currently holds the rank of Commander in the Navy Reserves, focusing on Information Warfare and Cryptology. His research interests encompass computer architecture, particularly general-purpose computing and graphics processing units (GPUs), as well as pedagogy related to computer science education.
