Biography

Cindy Lynn Townsend is a Soprano and Teaching Artist known for her versatility and positive pedagogical approach. She helps students establish strong vocal techniques and artistic styles, inspiring them to pursue their vocal goals across various genres. Many of her students have achieved successful careers as professional artists, performing with esteemed ensembles such as the Canadian Opera Company and at prestigious festivals across Canada. Cindy's musical journey began at Mount Allison University, followed by advanced studies in Voice and Opera at the University of Toronto. She has collaborated with Canadian music icons and has performed extensively in Canada and Europe. In addition to her teaching, Cindy founded 'Complex Cares! Kids Helping Kids!', a fundraising initiative that benefits the Complex Care Clinic at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto by providing musical experiences for children and families. She joined the DalVoice team at the Fountain School of Performing Arts at Dalhousie University in 2021.
