Biography

Claire Tugault-Lafleur’s research program emphasizes healthy eating among children and youth, leveraging her background as a Registered Dietitian (RD). Her doctoral research focused on characterizing dietary quality of Canadian children during school days and identifying factors associated with nutritional outcomes using nationally representative dietary survey data. Following her doctoral degree, she completed a CIHR Postdoctoral Fellowship at BC Children's Hospital Research Institute in Vancouver. Her current research includes the design and evaluation of food and physical literacy interventions aimed at preventing obesity-related chronic diseases in children and youth. Her research interests encompass children’s food and physical activity environments, dietary assessment methods, social determinants of health and nutrition, and mobile health interventions (mHealth). She is a member of the College of Dietitians of Ontario, the Canadian Nutrition Society, Dietitians Canada, and the International Society for Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity.
