Biography

Clarissa Beyah is a communications executive, educator, and nonprofit founder with over 25 years of global experience leading communication organizations for some of the world’s largest companies. Currently, she serves as the Chief Communications Officer at Union Pacific Railroad and as a professor of professional practice in journalism at USC Annenberg. Beyah is passionate about engaging and empowering youth through strategic communications. She is the president and founder of Writer’s Block Ink, a nonprofit organization dedicated to cultivating diverse young leaders using the arts. Over its 17 years of existence, Writer’s Block has transformed the lives of more than 1,000 at-risk youth through arts-based productions addressing social issues. Beyah has also held notable positions in various sectors, including vice president of global communications at Aon and chief communications officer at GE Transportation. She has been a member of the Arthur Page Society and Leadership Greater Washington. Beyah holds a BA in English from Rowan University and an MBA in Strategic Management from the University of New Haven. In her personal life, she enjoys traveling, writing, and hiking.
