Biography

Courtney Swisher is an Associate Professor of Practice and Director of the School Psychology Master's Program at the University of Texas at Austin. She supervises Master's students in School Psychology during their school-based practica and internships. Dr. Swisher holds a Ph.D. in School Psychology from Texas A&M University, where she specialized in Prevention Science. She is a licensed psychologist and a licensed specialist in school psychology. Before joining the faculty at UT Austin, she worked as an Assistant Professor in School Psychology at Sam Houston State University and as an Associate Professor at Texas Woman's University. Dr. Swisher has also worked as a school psychologist in various Texas school districts and has experience teaching Special Education as an educator from early childhood to grade 12. In her role, she serves as a research mentor for students in the School Psychology program.
