Dale Throness, a native of Grande Prairie, Alberta, received early musical training in Winnipeg and later obtained a Master of Music in Voice Performance at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He pursued post-graduate studies at the Vancouver Academy of Music and the Britten Pears School for Advanced Musical Studies in Aldeburgh, England. Throness has sung numerous operatic roles, including the title role in Mozart’s 'Don Giovanni' and Marcello in 'La Boheme', with renowned directors and conductors. His recent concert engagements include performances with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra as part of the Tea & Trumpets series and contributions to festivals featuring works such as Brahms’ lieder and Requiems by Brahms and Faure. He has also performed 'Carmina Burana' several times at the Orpheum Theatre under the direction of Kazuyoshi Akiyama. Alongside his performance career, Mr. Throness teaches voice at the University of British Columbia and Kwantlen College, as well as offering private lessons in voice.
