Dr. Dana Sedatole

Biography

Dana Sedatole is a Music Education Specialist at Michigan State University College of Music. With over 35 years of teaching experience, Sedatole serves as an Instructor and has held the position of Associate Director of Bands at the University of Houston Moores School of Music since 2019. Throughout her career, she has led various prestigious programs including those at Oak Ridge High School in Conroe, Texas, where her band earned recognitions such as Runner-Up at the TMEA 6A Honor Band Competition and participation in the UIL State Marching Contest. Dana's leadership extends back to her beginnings as an Assistant Band Director at Monterey High School in Lubbock, Texas, and her tenure as Director of Bands at Wood Middle School in San Antonio, Texas. Under her directorship, the Wind Ensemble achieved distinctions as a two-time TMEA Honor Band Finalist. Sedatole is a graduate of the School of Music at Texas Tech University, having studied under notable mentors such as Director Emeritus Eddie Green at the University of Houston. She is currently the President of the Texas Music Educator’s Association and maintains affiliations with the Texas Bandmasters Fraternity, the American Bandmasters Association, Phi Beta Mu International Bandmasters Fraternity, and the Texas Music Adjudicators Association.
