Biography

Daniel Janssen is an Associate Professor at Utrecht University in the Department of Language, Literature and Communication, Faculty of Humanities. His research interests focus on academic and business writing, writing processes in context, the effects of large language models on professional writing processes, apologies and reputation management, and persuasion. He teaches courses in the master's program in Communication and Organization, including courses on Professional and Academic Writing, Reputation Management, and Research Seminars, and supervises master’s theses in his research area. Janssen has held various administrative roles, currently serving as chair of the Examination Committee for Academic Masters in the Humanities and vice-chair of the University Committee on Interpersonal Integrity. He has been involved in multiple editorial boards and committees, including the Journal of Writing Research and the Journal of Business Communication, and has co-organized international workshops on various topics related to writing and communication. He has also acted as a co-promoter for several research projects related to language education and writing skills.
