Daniel is an applied econometrician whose work focuses on the intersection of health and labor market outcomes. His research investigates how employment relationships can become social determinants of health across the lifecourse, with a particular focus on mental health outcomes. His work aims to identify and evaluate strategies that can help protect the mental health of employees, improve labor productivity, and reduce health inequalities that arise from labor market outcomes. Currently, Daniel is engaged in the Health Equity Economic Determinants (HEED) project. Before joining the Social Public Health Sciences Unit in 2021, he worked at the Health Economics Research Unit (HERU) at the University of Aberdeen. Daniel holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Aberdeen and an MSc in Economics from the University of Edinburgh.
