Biography

Dan Rothstein is the co-director of the Democracy-Building Program at the Right Question Institute (RQI). He has played a significant role in developing a model for democratic education that empowers individuals, especially those who have traditionally been excluded from power, to advocate for themselves and participate in decision-making processes. Along with Luz Santana, Rothstein co-authored the book 'Make Change: Teach Students to Ask Their Own Questions' published by Harvard Education Press in 2011. His work includes leading trainings focused on educational strategies that enhance the agency of educators, community leaders, and researchers, particularly frontline service providers in the United States and around the globe. Currently, Rothstein is collaborating as a co-principal investigator on NSF-funded projects aimed at strengthening higher education by improving researchers' questioning capabilities.
