Dr. Danièle Moore

Biography

Danièle Moore is a distinguished professor at Simon Fraser University in the Faculty of Education. She holds a PhD in Linguistics from the University Stendhal-Grenoble 3, France, and has dedicated her career to exploring the dynamics of language education and plurilingualism. Prior to her current role, she served as a research teaching assistant at the University of Geneva, and she began her academic career as an assistant professor at the École Normale Supérieure in France, later becoming head of the Linguistics Department there. Since moving to Canada, Moore has made significant contributions to the field, including her role as research director in multiple French language education initiatives. Throughout her career, she has authored over 110 journal articles and book chapters, co-edited numerous volumes, and contributed to major international journals. Moore's research interests span educational sociolinguistics, plurilingual education, and language policy, particularly within diverse cultural contexts. She emphasizes collaborative and participatory approaches in teacher training and learning, and her work has been influential in advancing knowledge in the areas of multilingual education and community engagement.
