Biography

Danielle Blouin is a Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Queen's University. She graduated from Université Laval Medical School and completed her Family Medicine/Emergency Medicine residency with the College of Family Physicians of Canada at Queen's University and Emergency Medicine residency with the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada at McGill University. She holds a Master of Health Professions Education (MHPE) and a PhD in Curriculum Instruction with a Certificate in Educational Research Methodology from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Blouin has been actively involved in various educational and accreditation initiatives, including serving as a founding Director of the National Review Course in Emergency Medicine from 2003 to 2012 and as Director of Faculty Development in Health Sciences at Queen's University from 2006 to 2013. She chaired the Association of Faculties of Medicine of Canada resources group for faculty development from 2008 to 2011 and has participated in numerous educational projects at provincial, national, and international levels. Her research interests focus on program evaluation, particularly related to accreditation, and she has acted as Secretary of the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools (CACMS) and the Committee on Accreditation of Continuing Medical Education (CACME) from 2014 to 2019. Blouin currently serves as the Director of Program Evaluation and Accreditation for the MD Program at Queen's University, co-teaching 'Curriculum Planning and Program Evaluation' in the MHPE Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. She has received several awards for her contributions to research education and maintains a clinical practice in Emergency Medicine.
