Biography

David Asch is a John Morgan Professor at the University of Pennsylvania, holding dual appointments in the Perelman School of Medicine and the Wharton School. He is also the Senior Vice President for Strategic Initiatives at the University. Dr. Asch is recognized for his expertise in clinician patient decision making, health care management, health policy, medical ethics, and behavioral economics. He served as the executive director of the Center for Health Care Innovation since its inception in 2012 and previously directed the Center for Health Equity Research and Promotion (CHERP) at the Department of Veterans Affairs from 2001 to 2012. With over 500 published papers in the field, he has received numerous awards for his contributions to training and research in health economics. Dr. Asch holds an MD from Cornell University and an MBA from the Wharton School.
